We are social beings and hence must relate with people around us to live efficiently.Be that as it may, we don't relate with everyone on the same level or for the same reason.Several things determine the kind of people we attract or are attracted to. But you can categorize these forces of attraction into LOVE AND LUST.At all levels and categories of relationships, either of these two forces are at work to form the bedrock upon which any system or relationship is built. You are attracted to anybody or anything because you love them or because you are lusting after some value they can offer you. Love seeks to enhance the object it is attracted to but Lust seeks to only enjoy the value it can get from its object of attraction and moves away the moment it realizes something better elsewhere.Although the words 'Love' and 'Lust' is often used with respect to the romance between two people, they apply to every thing we engage in, in every aspect of our lives. Love is deeper and consistent while Lust is superficial and fades away the moment its expectations are not met. The reason for this is because love sees the person or object it is attracted to as its purpose, it sees every weakness in that person as its own responsibility that it should bear to strengthen him or her,it is more conscious of what it can do to better the life of its partner, so no matter what comes up it is always ready to accommodate it and deal with it, hence it does not give up until it is given up. As this attitude of love is needed in inter-personal relationships so is it needed in our relationship with other systems, such as our Government,Workplace,Church and organizations that have an impact on other aspects of our lives. We ought to relate with everyone and everything in love so that we can fulfill our purpose by helping them fulfill theirs. Lust on the contrary is geared towards using its partner to achieve its own ends. While love sees its object of attraction as its own end, lust sees its own as a means to an end which can be discarded if it stops contributing towards the end or if someone else or something else shows up that can contribute better to its own end. It is selfish and thus can only be committed to a course as long as it is benefiting from it. It thinks more of getting than giving. Because of its characteristics, it is always disappointing and disappointed at the same time. It cannot help anyone or anything fulfill its purpose, neither can it fulfill its own. Individuals and systems that fly by the principle of lust often crash before landing. Because of the disintegration that exists between its members or victims. For example an office that works by the principle of lust, love their objectives more than their workers but one that works by the principle of love, loves her workers more than their objectives. The result of this is that love commands more loyalty than lust. Hence couples or systems bound by love are able to stick together till they fulfill their purpose but those bound by lust, part ways the moment their selfish ends are threatened. Hence LIFE AND PURPOSE IS LOST IN LUST AND FOUND IN LOVE. The Ideal is to deal with everyone and everything in love but in reality we move between both ends. Growing in perfection and fulfillment therefore means tending towards the end of LOVE.
